The Raw Carrot at Stirling

Call for volunteers!

On Mondays and Wednesdays, we would love some volunteers to join us for an hour or two in the mornings to support staff and contribute to a welcoming work environment while we chop vegetables, make soup, and prepare other food items in the Stirling kitchen! We also welcome volunteers in the afternoons to help package and deliver the soup, and volunteers to help sell soup at various events, or during coffee hour at Stirling.

For more info and to sign up, please contact Kitchener site coordinator Erin Moyer.

Thanks!

How to buy

Soup season runs from September through June. Our kitchens are closed for the summer in July and August.

You can usually purchase Raw Carrot soup and other food items during coffee hour at Stirling on the last Sunday of each month.

Join the Soup of the Month Club to enjoy 10 months of delicious, gourmet soup from September through June. Great for gift-giving, packed lunches, weeknight meals or busy families on the go!

Our story

On Sunday, January 21, 2018, The Raw Carrot and Mennonite Central Committee Ontario presented in worship and faith formation at Stirling.

The social entreprise, which began in Paris, Ontario, empowers people who face barriers to traditional employment to secure their own livelihoods through the dignity of work. Employees and volunteers work together to prepare, cook and sell delicious, gourmet soup, granola, pancake mix, and other food items in local communities.

The Raw Carrot began operating at its Stirling location in Kitchener on May 7, 2018. The program now operates in Paris, Kitchener, Mount Forest, Woodstock, Innerkip, and Toronto.
